Toyota’s cooperation with several industry partners
Toyota, the first global automotive manufacturer and leader in the introduction of hybrids in the global market, recently joined forces with several industrial partners of his country in an experience that aims to analyze in real life what are the benefits and barriers to development of what has been called “smart grid.” This concept refers to the intelligent connection system house vehicle to recharge it in the most efficient and sustainable.
The experience that has embarked Toyota is taking place in the village of Rokkasho, in northern Honshu Island, Japan. They will run an experiment over the next two years in which all electric and hybrid plug will only consume energy from renewable sources.
One of the aims of the experiment is to demonstrate the impact on emissions reductions would have to all vehicles of a population is boosted using free sources of emissions. Toyota partners in this project are JWD, Panasonic Electric Works, Hitachi. These technology companies previously undertook to build an electricity network in Rokkasho fed only clean energy sources.
