Toyota is the first Japanese automaker to announce a timetable for expected return of normal production, indicating that factory suspensions have bottomed, and that production should recover during the summer. Regular production resumes around November.
The announcement was made by the CEO of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, who said it is “still difficult to read what will happen, ” noting that “last night on the outskirts of Tokyo, we had another reply.” A timeline for recovery was filed, Toyoda said, to support the dealers who have so far been limited to launch their products, and a loss when dealing with customers.
