Classic Car Exhibition And Luxury In Shanghai
As expected of an international auto show in one of the biggest cities in the world, the Shanghai Motor Show is full of people. Very popular: More than 7,500 journalists expected, and it seemed that they all showed up. Surprisingly, in every press conference six or seven that occurred at the same time, a full scrum of reporters – or at least those with credentials of journalists – were present.
Volvo Universe Concept The day began with the debut of new Volvo Sedan Concept great concept universe. Volvo design director Peter Horbury told us that Volvo does not build cars like games – that, given the importance of a car like this in the Chinese market, Volvo is very interested in feedback from those attending the fair. Overall the car looks good, although the grille and headlights are a bit strange.
While Volvo was taking the wraps off its new concept, Volkswagen was one of the cars we talk about new releases, the majority, the new design of the beetle. The car is a bit more stylish inside and out with a new interior and front and rear styling. The updates are very nice evolutionary adjustments in a car that is still clearly a beetle. The people’s car shown in New York later this week.
Through its partnership with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, General Motors has a huge presence in the city of Shanghai and the auto show here, the exhibition dedicated to Chevrolet, Cadillac and, of course, Buick. (In fact, GM sold more Buicks in China than in the U.S.) was the star of GM’s new Malibu. The midsize sedan is updated another car making appearances in both Shanghai and New York.
BMW and MINI were also big in Shanghai. MINI has taken a step class with the concept of Good wood – a MINI Cooper S with luxury features and materials normally found in a Rolls-Royce. To carry the theme, MINI UK has created a lounge around the concept, with fireplace and dining room. BMW was less direct contact with the screen, almost hiding the new M5 concept in a dark room in his large stand. But the car still looks fast – and the media. We will have a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, but it is not yet in power.
