Volkswagen introduced a new Bulli
The first van produced by VW in 1950, officially called Transporter, but became known as the “Bulli” in Germany and “Minibus” in the U.S.. In both countries, became an icon of an era and a symbol of freedom no less. Therefore, it is common to find a unit of the sixties still some beaches in northern Spain even. Some even customize them, giving an indication that it is a cult vehicle.
VW wants to pay homage to his Bulli during the Geneva Motor Show, where he will present his successor, which you can see here the first pictures. The new Bulli, equipped with an electric motor and a six-seat infotainment system controlled by iPad will be presented today much more compact and cheaper than the previous study. Above it could cement a fifth range of brand new vans.
The electric motor zero emissions van in a power output of 115 hp and excellent torque of 270 Newton-meter, which makes available from idle, as is common for such vehicles. The motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 40 kWh, which offers a range of 300 kilometers. The Bulli accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 11.5 seconds reaching a top speed of 140 km / h (electronically controlled).
VW says the battery can be fully recharged “in a special plug” in just one hour, but I would like to know what type of technology, I will tell you if I find something. Bulli new measurements are 3.99 meters long, 1.75 meters wide and 1.70 meters high. Thus, it would be a really small model, both as a VW Touran, but with clearer guidance to leisure and the interior, apparently, minimalist.
