1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa Can Solve Record At Auction At Pebble Beach
The auction house Gooding & Co. will offer two legendary sports-racing cars – a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa and a 1963 prototype 289 Cobra Shelby factory team cars, one of which may set a record price for a car sold at an auction – for sale Gooding 20 to 21 August at the Pebble Beach Concourse.

TR 0666, which began as the prototype and test bed for the line of Testa Rossa, which is undoubtedly the most successful series of sports car racing history. Based on 290 mm, TR prototype was assembled in 1957 with the classic V12 engine, Dion rear axle and steering wheel to the right.
The car debuted at the 1000 km, where Masten Gregory and Olindo Morolli ended in 10th place. As a factory team car, 0666 TR practiced in Sweden and ran the GP of Sweden. After receiving the pontoon-fender body Scarlatti, Ferrari campaigned the car in the Grand Prix of Venezuela and 1000 km from Buenos Aires, where he placed third and second respectively.
He has competed in all events in the world, including Sebring, Nürburgring and Le Mans, as well as in SCCA events.
Restored to its excellent condition with its original, matching numbers engine and NART livery 1958, the tremendously impressive historic corridor has won two trophies for Best in Class at Pebble Beach and a Platinum Award and the Copa del Cavallino TR, and is one of the two TR Classiche certified factory in existence. 1963 289 Shelby Cobra Factory Team cars, chassis No. CSX2129, was completed in May 1963 and built for “Sebring” specification. In what would be an unprecedented year for Shelby CSX2129 competed during the 1963 season USRRC the hand of Bob Bondurant, and above all, Ken Miles. Numerous class wins and pole positions of the car marked the successful 1963 season, playing an important role in the U.S. victory manufacturer Shelby USRRC Championship, the championship USRRC and SCCA championship.
Graham Shaw ran successfully in 1964, the team coach Shelby 289 again and was exhibited at the Fair 1964 New York World. Now in its authentic livery team in 1963, Gooding has made the estimation of the auction of this American legend in motor sports $ 2.4 billion to $ 2.8 million.
